Hydrogeologist

Assistant Consultant at Arcadis · Pune, India

At Arcadis, I bring groundwater monitoring, geological interpretation, and environmental reporting together. My work supports HS2 in the United Kingdom and environmental projects across Australia, with a foundation in field hydrogeology and community water security.

SITE INVESTIGATION SUPPORT

Utility searches, supplier coordination, and staged reporting to support planned investigations at two HS2 sites.

My work starts with water.
And the people who rely on it.

My grounding in hydrogeology began with wells, field surveys, and conversations about drinking water in Maharashtra. At ACWADAM, I worked on water safety and security across eight villages in Pune and Latur. At Urdhvam, I brought field observations into geological maps, cross sections, and rainwater harvesting studies.

Today, I am an Assistant Consultant at Arcadis, supporting the UK Environment team. My work connects groundwater monitoring, water quality assessment, and borehole interpretation with clear technical reporting. I enjoy making complex subsurface information easier to understand and use.

to international projects.

My path brings together field investigation, groundwater interpretation, and environmental consulting. Each role has added a different perspective on how people understand and manage water.

01 / OBSERVE

Understand the site

Geological and hydrogeological mapping, well inventories, pumping tests, and in-situ and laboratory water quality assessments establish the context behind each measurement.

Field surveys · Pumping tests · EQS / DWS assessment
02 / INTERPRET

Connect the evidence

I interpret groundwater levels, lithology, and spatial data through maps, groundwater models, and geological cross sections. My toolkit also includes CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator for subsurface visualization.

QGIS · ArcGIS · Surfer · Groundwater Vistas · PhreeqcI · Google Earth Pro
03 / COMMUNICATE

Make the detail useful

I prepare borehole logs, validate historical records, and coordinate technical reports and MIDP submissions. Utility searches and supplier coordination also support planned site investigations.

The world I work with.
Just below our feet.

From a monitoring well to a geological cross section, my work is about connecting observations into a picture of the subsurface.

This simplified groundwater system brings those ideas together: rainfall, recharge, water stored in porous sediment, and flow through fractured rock.

Explore the layers. Pause the flow. See what changes when the rain stops.

Follow the water.

Rain filters through soil and sediment, replenishing groundwater stored below.

Science is a people
practice, too.

Alongside hydrogeology, I have worked with school pupils, research participants, and fellow students. These experiences are part of how I listen, explain, and collaborate.

01 / ACTION TUTORINGBuilding confidence through maths

I tutored primary and secondary school pupils preparing for SATs and GCSEs, working one-to-one and with small groups. The role involved helping pupils strengthen their subject knowledge, confidence, and study skills.

02 / FUEL STUDYLearning through conversations

As a sessional worker on the FUEL study, I carried out fieldwork in secondary schools across the East and West Midlands, contributing to research on school food and food education.

03 / UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAMSupporting a campus community

As a Campus Marshal, I answered student queries and supported campus COVID safety measures. Working within a wider team helped me understand different perspectives and respond clearly to practical questions.

Good conversations
